DIY: Easy Kitchen Cupboard Beauty Hacks

Just like with our home care range, we are firm believers that everything we need can be found in nature, and skincare is no different. There are so many incredible natural ingredients in our cupboards which can be used to make effective and nourishing products. Home-made formulas are obviously cruelty-free and so much better for the environment.  We love making and using the below ideas at home as they're so simple and easy, and make for a self-care routine that we can actually feel good about!

Sugar facial scrub

Mix half a cup of white or brown sugar with olive oil so that it makes a paste and rub into your face.  Always rub upwards or in circular motions, never downwards as we don’t want to help gravity.  Leave the mixture on your face for about 10 minutes, then wash off with warm water.  Tip: don’t exfoliate too often as you can damage the new skin coming through.

Honey face mask

We are obsessed with honey and as it turns out, it's amazing for your skin. Simply rub a thin layer honey onto your face, leave on for 10 mins, and then rinse with warm water.  It's great for dry skin, acne, opening pores, treating acne and hydrating your skin.

Tea bags for eye bags

The tannin and caffeine in tea is renowned for reducing swelling and puffiness around the eyes.  It’s simple, take a used black tea bag and let it cool down or put in the fridge.  Once it’s cool pop it on your closed eyes and lie down for 10-15 minutes.  You can also use green tea bags.

Coconut oil conditioner

Coconut oil is a major part of our at-home routine, there's always a jar in the bathroom! For hair specifically, you can use it as a hair mask or a conditioner for the ends, to help protect the hair from styling and heat damage. Just rub some coconut oil through your hair and let it sit for a few hours (or even overnight) before washing it out! Don't use too much though, otherwise the end result ends up a bit oily!
