Recipe: Fresh Turmeric, Ginger and Lemon Shot

Boost your immunity and get a natural energy lift with this powerful turmeric, ginger, and lemon shot! Packed with anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants, this simple recipe is perfect for a morning boost or anytime you need a health kick. It's been a staple of ours for a while, and we thought you might like it too!

Here's how to make it:

Ingredients:

  • 6 lemons (you can add an orange for extra sweetness)
  • 1 large head of fresh turmeric (adjust to taste)
  • 1 large head of fresh ginger (adjust to taste)
  • A pinch of black pepper (this helps with the absorption of turmeric)
  • Water (optional, if you prefer a more diluted shot)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients
  • Peel the fresh turmeric and ginger.
  • Chop them into small chunks for easy blending.
  • Juice the lemons (and the orange, if you're using one).
  1. Blend It All Together
  • Add the turmeric, ginger, and lemon juice into a high-powered blender like a NutriBullet. Blend until smooth. You can add a small amount of water if the mixture is too thick.
  1. Strain the Mixture
  • Pour the blended mixture through a fine strainer or cheesecloth to separate the juice from the pulp. Squeeze or press down to extract as much juice as possible.
  1. Add Black Pepper
  • Once strained, add a pinch of black pepper to the juice. This is important as it enhances the absorption of the curcumin in turmeric.
  1. Serve and Enjoy
  • Pour your fresh turmeric and ginger juice into small shot glasses for a concentrated wellness shot. Alternatively, you can dilute the juice with water for a refreshing drink.

How to Store:

  • Store any leftover juice in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Pro Tip:

  • For an extra kick, try adding a dash of cayenne pepper or honey to sweeten the mix!
